CHILD NEGLECT

Everyone make mistakes. Most of the time, you can rectify those mistakes and move on with your life. However, in New York City, when those mistakes involve your children, it is possible that the Administration for Children��™s Services (ACS) will want to get involved with your family. Do NOT attempt to navigate through an ACS investigation without legal assistance. More often than not, your own statements will be used against you in Family Court in a neglect/abuse proceeding. Such a proceeding can lead to serious consequences ��� from the removal of your children from your home to possible termination of parental rights.
